Gary's Rec & Tech Diving

IANTD - Nitrox

The IANTD Nitrox course is designed to provide Sport Divers with a safer than air breathing medium for enjoying dives in the 12-30m depth range. The dive may elect to dive on EANx (Nitrox) tables, or an EANx dive computer to extent their no-decompression limits in the sport diving range

This is a 2 day course. Day 1 is spent completing the lectures and theory found in the IANTD/EANx diver student manual, covering mixes from 21% to a maximum of 40% oxygen with the emphasis on EANx 32 and EANx36.

The two dives are instructor led and supervised but there are no requirements for in water skills other than DSMB deployment and bailout skills. Although aimed at diver using single cylinders in a no decompression environment, divers wishing to combine this course with the twinset fundamentals are able to do so provided that they meet the course requirements regarding the number of dives and experience.
